Mayor & City Council.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Hamilton City Charter, the City council is comprised of 6 members elected at large for staggered 4-year terms. The Mayor is separately elected for a 4-year term. The Vice Mayor serves 2 years and is the Council Member who receives the highest number of votes in each Council election.

Municipal Court.

The mission of the Hamilton Municipal Court is to provide the Public the highest quality of service possible in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner. To achieve this goal, our facilities must be operated in a safe, open and accessible atmosphere, be based on a comprehensive long and short term planning, and have an appropriate managerial organization tempered by fiscal responsibility.

City Manager’s Office

As Chief Executive Officer for the City of Hamilton, the City Manager is responsible for a workforce of more than 600 permanent employees and a $318+ million annual budget. The seven-member City Council appoints the City Manager.

Law

Provides legal services for both the legislative and administrative branches of the city government, which include the City Council, the City Manager’s Office, and the City’s departments, together with the divisions within those departments.

 

City Clerk’s Office

Provides direct support to City Council and a variety of City processes.

Neighborhood Services

The Department of Neighborhood Services is overseen by Executive Director Liz Hayden.

Health

The Health Department regulates compliance with all applicable local and state health codes related to food services, public swimming pools, grocery stores, school buildings, and environmental issues.

Neighborhoods & Planning

Supports community development, land use management, and a wide variety of other planning and zoning related tasks.

Works to connect current & and prospective residents to each other, information, and tools that help them to envision and build a prideful future in Hamilton.

Resident Services

Provide services and information to enhance the quality of life of Hamilton residents. The Department of Resident Services is comprised of four divisions: Special Events, Quick Strike Team, Code Compliance, and Refuse/Recycling.

The Department of Infrastructure is overseen by Executive Director Edwin Porter.

The Department of Infrastructure enhances the life of our community by providing reliable, competitively-priced, and environmentally responsible services to our customer-owners. Public Safety

The Department of Public Safety is overseen by Executive Director Scott Scrimizzi.

Police

Provides exceptional police service for a better Hamilton. Our mission is embodied in our commitment to public safety through community engagement designed to support the vision of Hamilton as a purposeful destination to work, live, and play.

Fire

Provides services designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the City of Hamilton from the adverse effects of fires, medical emergencies, or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.

 

Strategy & Personnel

The Department of Strategy & Personnel is overseen by Executive Director Brandon Saurber.

Information Technology Services

Improves the decision-making & performance of city employees by providing the information, hardware, and software needed to affect the strategic outcomes of the organization.

Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources oversees employee recruitment, examination, hiring, training, benefits, records, and policies.

 

Development

The Department of Development is overseen by Executive Director Aaron Hufford.

Finance

Provides financial stewardship for the City’s resources, finds fiscally sound financial solutions to support the City’s strategic plan, and increases accountability and transparency of the City’s financial information to various stakeholders

Economic Development

Acts as the primary lead on business retention and attraction efforts, workforce development, and coordinating with supporting agencies that support the growth of Hamilton’s local economy.

Building

Regulates construction of commercial and residential buildings and administers several codes, which among others, includes the building code, electrical code, plumbing code, and mechanical code.
